Itchy Dog

Our family is now the proud owners of a dog. We have adopted Elmo from Christine and Scott. Elmo comes with many problems and it is going to be an adventure to get him healthy and happy again. As of today we are going to switch him over from Iam's dog food to a brand called Go Natural Salmon and Oatmeal. This is supposed to be a great food for dog's with food allergies. We are hoping that with this food his skin irritation will clear up. Right now Elmo wears a cone almost all the time and wears booties a lot to keep himself from scratching and biting himself til he bleeds. He has also been bathed a lot (because he stinks alot from having the allergies) and a vet had told them to use baby shampoo on him because it will keep his fur from discoloring. We are going to try out an allergy shampoo on him and see if that helps and also try not to bath him too much. Our goal is to have him looking better for Christmas when we go to Port Alberni and everyone gets to see him again.

Elmo is eight years old so he is kinda set in his ways. He is kinda funny to watch. He seems quite preturbed that we don't get big rays of sun in our house (we live in a basement suite) and has tried to crawl into the book shelf a couple times when the sun hits it. He likes to sleep on my lap when I am watching shows on my computer. Unfortunetly that means he has jumped up onto my laptop a couple times. :) He likes to sleep in bed with us and so far has managed to not get rolled over on, mind you he has only been here for two nights so far.
